The Sunday Sixteen

1. Photo flashback:

Alex at 2 months, still skinny from his pyloric stenosis ordeal

Stephen at 2 months while Mommy is dealing with "oversupply"

2. Alex has finally figured out how to say "Stephen". But I still get funny looks when people ask him "What's your brother's name?" and he just answers "Baby".

3. We might be using the 1 2 3 Magic book for 1 2 3 FOREVER. Alex has had plenty time outs these days. God bless little boys - they just don't understand why getting mad doesn't have to equal getting physically violent.

4. Spring Break is over, yipee! Alex can now go back to MMO two mornings a week. I didn't realize what a mental break those two mornings really were!

5. Best Parents only movie this week: Beowulf. Finally saw this and the graphics are absolutely astounding.

6. Alex is back on daily Flovent to prevent asthma flare ups. I hate allergy season. I hate steriod medication. I hate inhalers. Come to think of it there's not much at all about asthma that I'm happy with these days. Leave my little boy alone before I kick your ass already.

7. My most favorite baby item for this week is the Baby Trend Snap N Go Stroller. I got one the other day and suddenly my life is oh so much simpler! Alex wants to walk everywhere. This does not work so well with having a little one who needs a stroller that can carry his snugride carseat. The Baby Trend is light enough for me to push with one hand, yet the baby can stay in his carrier and transfer is super easy. All hail anything that makes my life more convenient!

8. Best "help Mommy relax" item this week: Coffeemate Blueberry Cobbler flavored creamer. Yum!

9. Favorite Toddler Book this week: Where is Baby's Mommy by Karen Katz. We're Katz fans. Working on collecting them all as Alex loves the way he can be involved in the story lifting flaps and helping to "look" for things.

10. Best blogs this week: Husbandhood - Eric is a dad, a husband, and a certified first aid and CPR instructor. He has some absolute must reads for parents of little ones everywhere, so check it out.
AND
Sarcastic Mom - in perusing her blog I swear we are sisters in sarcasm wrongly seperated at birth. Her website makes me laugh, it makes me cry, and it keeps me coming back day after day, I'm officially an addict!

11. We've offically gone to formula feeding for Stephen. Remember how happy I was when I thought we had all the "Issues" figured out? I was wrong. After three months of constant back and forth dealing with oversupply, overactive letdown, and chronic tummy issues for my little man due to breastfeeding, I've finally thrown in the towel. I'm not happy about it, but it's what's working best for him, and that's all that matters.

12. Naptime has suddenly become a huge battle of wills. I'll post more on this later in the week, but for now I can really use any tips on how you keep your toddler taking a good nap. I'm getting really tired of the 6pm meltdown every single day.

13. Park days are here again! Thank goodness for spring and the return of decent weather so we can get back out to the parks and play outside.

14. CSI: Las Vegas starts back with new episodes this Thursday! I cannot wait. I'm literally in a state similar to a small child a week before Christams. I admit, I'm a Grissom addict. I have a problem, but admitting it is half the battle.

15. The race at Martinsville is starting in just a few minutes. As Darryl says, "pull those belts tight, let's go racin' boys!" If you want to keep up with the current Nascar happenings and point standings, check out Nascar Talk Online, and Heather will keep you up to date on it all.

16. My first Sunday Sixteen in a good long while. It's kind of like riding a bike, you just get back on after so many years, and commence to making a fool of yourself. :-)
