- Summer is officially here. Time to break out the baby sunblock and swim diapers!
- Alex is spending lots of time playing with his good friends Eli and Elise lately. I love the fact that he's developing relationships. He asks about Eli or Elise at least once a day, and usually wants to know when we'll see them again.
- Packing for a trip involving a toddler and an infant is easier said than done. I have no idea where all the kid gear is going to go, and I'm pretty sure I'll just have to wear the clothes I have on for the entire trip because there will be no room for my suitcase.
- A visual comparison:

Alex at 4 and a half months.

Stephen at 4 and a half months.
- Favorite Toddler Book these days - Alex Did It by Udo Weigelt a gift from Eli and Elise.
- Favorite baby product this week - the Hotsling - this makes it much, much easier to get the prep work done for dinner, to calm the baby when he's fussy, and to basically get anything at all done around the house.
- Best Mommy only product this week - Dove's SkinVitalizer - made for cleaning your face and revitalizing tired skin, you just replace the pads every so often, hit a button and you get a quick mini facial while in the shower. As someone who never has time to wash her own face, much less pamper herself, I absolutely adore it.
- Quick Food Tip for the week - Croissants! Lately we'll get ready made croissants from the bakery at our local grocery store and heat them up in a few seconds in the microwave. Drizzle it with honey for a quick breakfast on the run, or coat with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic for a great addition to dinner.
- I'm gettin' off my butt this week. Joined the Y last week and am making it a point to go and work out at least an hour a couple days a week. What's even better is the free childcare while I'm doing it and the friendly nursery staff who already love both the boys.
- Memorial Day is coming up. If you can speak your mind without fear of persecution, thank a veteran. If you can worship whichever religion you choose, thank a veteran. If you are here and didn't have to risk your own life to protect your many freedoms, stand up and shake a veteran's hand. They put their lives on the line for us and many, many more have lost their lives to allow us our freedoms. We don't give them nearly enough respect, so make it a point to show your appreciation and heartfelt gratitude this Memorial Day.
- Sleep is a hot button issue in my house these days. We're working with Stephen on sleeping better through the night and though we just started this he seems to be doing well with it so far. Alex on the other hand is going the other way and suddenly lays by his door and cries after he's been put to bed, be it naptime or nighttime. We go back in and tell him to get back in the bed and he does, then falls asleep.
- Alex is blowing us away with his vocabulary today. At lunch he looked at my sandwich and said "Mommy mayonnaise?". MAYONNAISE?? Are you kidding? I don't think I could even say that word until I was in my twenties. He's my little word sponge, it's amazing.
- Best Netflix this week - Resurrecting the Champ with Samuel Jackson and Josh Hartnett. As a writer and a parent this one really struck a cord with me. Higly recommend it.
- Well it took almost five months but we finally got all the breastfeeding issues resolved. We also found a lactose free formula that Stephen tolerates well should he need it. I have to admit, I feel pretty damn good about the fact that I'm giving Stephen the absolute best start I can.
- That's the Sunday Sixteen for this week, hope you all have a great one!
