Happy Day after Fourth of July everyone. Hope you all had a day filled with fun, ice cream, fatty foods, and more fireworks than you could stand. For the first time in a long while Alex was feeling well enough that we went out downtown and enjoyed the fourth of July festival. We didn't last long enough to see the fireworks down there, but caught some once we got back home so all was not lost. Alex also had a blast, and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my three men.
We are still in the midst of numerous tests to determine what exactly is going on with Alex's health. He appears to have RAD (or asthma, whatever you choose to call it) but has tested negative in his allergy tests, thus has no apparent trigger. He's had essentially a chronic upper respiratory infection since about February, and though he's "okay" day to day, he's certainly not at 100%. We found out on Thursday after a visit to the ENT that his ear tubes have come out and both ears are infected. Poor little guy showed no signs of an ear infection whatsoever! So we're back in next Friday to get his tubes put back in (and absolute necessity according to the ENT as his ears currently do not drain any fluid when they should). They will also be putting a camera up into his sinuses and down into his larynx to try and figure out why he's having the chronic cough, runny nose, wheezing, fatigue, etc.
Stephen on the other hand is healthy as a horse these days, and is almost 20 pounds already!! He's finally down to getting up only once a night, and usually just giving him the pacifier knocks him back out until about 6 in the morning. A welcome change from 3 and 4 times a night, that's for sure!
I missed my blog friends over the past month, and am excited to see that Anita over at Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not? tagged me! Thanks Anita!!
Here's the meme:
“The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.”
